How do I make a Contribution 
Through the United Way?

If you are wondering the answer to this question, you have come to the right place.  First off, United Way is a one stop multi purpose organization.  Which in simpler terms means that United Way for South Louisiana raises funds for other agencies as well as itself. 

If you want to donate money straight to United Way for South Louisiana you can do this in many ways:

• Enroll in Payroll Deductions through your Employer
  (If your employer does not have payroll deduction set up -contact United Way for South Louisiana at 985-879-2461 or contact Lonnie Easley.) 

• Write a check and mail it to the United Way office

If you want to donate to Another United Way (maybe you are working in a different area than you live and you want to donate back to your local United Way Agency):

• Enroll through payroll deductions with the local United Way and designate these funds back to the United Way of your choice.  (If your company has a payroll deduction system set up then United Way for South Louisiana will get your money to the United Way that you request.)

• If your company does a United Way Campaign you can donate an employee gift that is NOT a payroll deduction (cash or check) and have it sent to the United Way of your choice.

If you want to donate to Another Non-Profit Agency (must have a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status):

• When participating in a United Way Campaign, you have the opportunity to send your donation to any non-profit agency all over the country if that agency holds a 501(c)(3) status.  (United Way for South Louisiana would need their name and updated address in order to deliver your donation to the correct organization.)

THROUGH UNITED WAY YOU HAVE THE UTILITIES TO SEND YOUR DONATIONS TO ANY ELIGIBLE AGENCY THAT YOU REQUEST.  UNITED WAY FOR SOUTH LOUISIANA FUNDS 28 AGENCIES WITHIN OUR FOUR-PARISH AREA OF ASSUMPTION, LAFOURCHE, ST. MARY AND TERREBONNE.
