Assumption Council on Aging is a non-profit agency delivering social services to elderly and disabled individuals in Assumption Parish.

St. Mary Council on Aging provides services to the elderly residents of St. Mary Parish, with emphasis on homebound services.

Project Learn provides Lau Bach Literacy phonics method to teach illiterate and non-English residents with one on one tutoring in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Encourages literacy in children by the distribution of age-appropriate books to at-risk children six months to five years by physicians at well child visits.  Trained volunteers read stories while children wait for appointments.

Food Banks provides assistance with food in emergency services, and offers budget counseling for families that need help managing their resources.

Emergency Aid Center services W. St. Mary parish by providing food, clothing, utility and rent assistance, household goods, furniture, and school supplies.

The Salvation Army offers emergency assistance with food, shelter, utilities, furniture, clothing, and emergency medication. It also provides referral services, counseling lodging, and transportation costs.
